The Quill and The Scale

We can crudely define the Quill to be a feather of a bird: a flight feather that has been crafted into a pen. They were used primarily as writing instruments before the nineteenth century. Having been held by great minds throughout the progress of time, the quill symbolizes intellectualism and creativity.
The Scale is a fundamental instrument of science and mathematics, and it has been used extensively over the course of human scientific progress. Having been handed down the generations from Pythagoras to Einstein and to individuals like Stephen Hawking today, the scale can indefinitely be held as the ideal symbol of practicality and precision.
